THE
ARGENTINE TERRITORY
In
its vast <b>surface</b> of 1,450,742 sq. mi. (3,757,407 km<sup>2</sup>), Argentina
offers every<b> variety of climate</b> and <b>landscape</b>: from tropical heat,
always rainy and full of colorful vegetation, to polar cold, with its soberly
white look thanks to snow and ice.<br>
Located in the south in relation to the equator and the west in relation to
Greenwich, the <b>Argentine Republic</b> is also a <b>bi-continental country</b>,
since its territory occupies part of America and a portion of Antarctica.

regions:</b></a> <br>
Argentina presents very dissimilar regions. There are plains and <b>mountain</b>
ranges; woods and jungles; <b>arid, swampy or clayish lands</b>. Traversing
the country along its latitude (2,295 mi. or 3,694 km) is a long way. <br>
<a href="geo120ing.html" target=_top><b>Hydrography:</b></a> <br>
A large number of <b>rivers</b> which are, for the most part, navigable, traverse
the country. Some of these are extremely important in hydroelectric terms. <br clear=all>
<a href="geo13ing.htm" target="_top"><b>Climate:</b></a>
<br>
One of the
most salient features of the Argentine territory is its <b>variety of climates</b>:
<b>humid, dry, tropical heat or nival cold,</b> through different kinds of <b>mild
climates</b>. Nothing remains outside the possibilities offered by Argentina
in climatic matters.
